Our new house #7 - the "workers" part 2

Introducing the new members of the house *drum rolls*

Ogawa Massage Chair
It all happened when we were out shopping at Suntec City one day in November. I went Amore the day before and I supposed I didn't do my weights training properly and ended up with an aching back. We went into the Osim showroom with the thought of trying the new massage chair (天王椅) with Andy Lau as the spokesperson. Nevertheless, Osim's business was good and all the salespeople were too busy to attend to us and they left us there to try out the 天王椅by ourselves for a good 30 minutes. We left the showroom, indicating that we will come back some other day since they are so busy.

We walked past Ogawa showroom and dear dear suggested we should try all brands of massage chairs before making any decisions. I am glad we made the right decision. All of you should really try Ogawa massage chair. We bought their latest version which enables one to sit in Zero-gravity position for the best massage effect. It is the first time that a massage chair can really address to my chronic aching shoulders problem!!!

Delphin Machine
I supposed this machine needs no introduction. We saw their booth when we were at the expo at the bookfest before we left for our honeymoon. I have been talking to dear dear about this machine after I heard about it from my secondary friends during our gathering. Since we saw the booth, we arrange for a demo session to be done at our house 2 days after we are back from our honeymoon. My intial thought is to show dear dear and let him know of this product so maybe we can consider buying it next time when we have our own children. Never did I expect dear dear agreeing to buy it after the demo!!! especially so as we have already bought quite a number of big-ticket items. But getting this machine not only can clean the air, it can clean our sofa and beds, even my mum's and my mother-in-law's. Worthwhile!!! They are giving us a free water filtering system for our house too!!! :)

Sweet Hubby #1

Though my hubby can be quite fierce at times, he can be pretty sweet and caring at times too!

I just came back from Taiwan on 7th Dec, the moment I reached home, I fell sick. To make things worse, my neighbour living on the 2nd floor is doing renovation works and the drilling and knocking just made things worse!

Dear Dear brought me to the doctor and after that he brought me to eat some food before we went home for me to rest. Thankfully, all the knocking and drilling have stopped when we reached home.

I konked out immediately at 5pm and didn't wake up until next morning at 9am when dear dear told me softly in my ear that breakfast is ready. He woke up earlier to cook porridge for me.

The morning spread :)

The other day, we had a tiff over household chores. And dear dear suggested to me in the car yesterday that we should rent out one of our rooms to students for extra income. I was skeptical initially as we are not home most of the time and leaving strangers in the house can be quite daunting to me. Dear dear told me we could get a maid with the extra income so we don't have to be bothered over household chores. Although he didn't say it out explicitly, I know he is trying to solve the problem as we have been quarreling over household chores quite a number of times. He knew that I am quite tired from doing all the household chores and he doesn't want us to quarrel over it anymore. :)

New Pet #1 - A part-time pet

Hubby had asked me a few times if I want to get a puppy, cos he know I love small animals. But I always say no as I know that I will not have time for the poor little thing.

But when we shifted to our new house, hubby and I saw this cute white cat a couple of times.

It all started when hubby bought a da-bao and he doesn't like to eat the skin. So he gave the skin to the white cat and she gobbled up everything. We started to get her to come up to the 3rd floor (that's the level we are staying), she was cautious initially but eventually she gave her trust to us.

Now whenever I used my house keys to make the clinking sound, she will appear at our doorstep. :)

Hi, I am their new-found part-time pet. They gave me a whole load of names: da-bao, cat-cat, mao-mao......I love them all. :)

I love sleeping on Sandra's sandals and basking in the sun at the same time. :)

But sometimes the sun can be too glaring......

This is what I call a cat-stretch. :)

Chef Hubby #2 - Tomato-based sauce Linguine

Hubby decided to cook pasta today.

When I went downstairs to buy 4D with the money I found on the street, Hubby had the idea to bake potato chips.

Failed attempt. But they taste good, seriously!

We bought minced beef and hubby added cheese to it before deep frying them. Was supposed to add eggs but hubby forgotten about it. The taste? Heavenly!

We used ready-made pasta sauce this time round but we thought the taste wasn't that fantastic.

The cleaning process is horrible. I had to mop the floor thrice before it is free from grease. You can imagine my reaction when Hubby said he would want to use tomato puree to create his own tomato-based sauce next time round.

Chef Hubby #1 - Carrot Cake

We were at Sheng Shiong the other day when I just casually commented that we can cook carrot cake ourselves. Hubby bought it and we had home-made carrot cake! :)

Carrot Cake in the making

And......if you still remember, this is my half-naked chef, a.k.a. my hubby~!

Household Chores #1 - Making the bed

Dear Dear woke up this morning and he made the bed, though it's just simply covering the bed neatly with the quilt, every little thought counts ya? :)

Customary #2 - An Chuang

Today is the day for an chuang, which means preparing the bed for the newly weds.

For some reasons (which I don't know what), we were not allowed to stay and watch, thus no photos on the process.

The bed after the An Chuang Process

The things which were placed on our bed.

Not forgetting the bedside lamps.

And so, no sleeping on the bed until Tuesday!

We collected some photos from the bridal shop on Saturday and we hung the wedding photo up today as well!

The Chuang Tou Photo

And the two table top photos.

Two different types of feel.

Love the feel of this picture with the design of the frame.

Customary #1 - Guo Da Li

The Hokkien call this "Lup Cai" or 纳彩 (Na-Cai) in Chinese. We had to do this procedure today and the auspicious hours are from 9am-3pm. We didn't manage to take any photos of the entire process or the traditional stuff as both the Bride and Groom need to work today!

Eric's aunt came over to my mum's place at around 10+ in the morning. My cousin was shocked when she got to know that we were not at home on such an important occasion (important, in their definition).

We ordered our wedding cakes from a local online cake shop, based on the recommendation on sgbrides. The name of the shop is Sweetest Moments. They can do free delivery if the order is above $200.

The amount of cakes we order doesn't amount up to $200, yet we are not willing to pay for delivery, hence we order some of their cupcakes to try.

A box of 20 cost $36. (Their signature flavour range)

We bought another box of 10. This costs $19.90.

Verdict for the cupcakes: Too creamy for everyone's liking. Everyone has the same comment, deardear, my mama, deardear's friends......the list goes on. They look pretty though but quite pricey too.

Our wedding cakes for the bride's relatives.

The boxes bear our names too. :)

The inside. 4 jam swiss roll, 4 mochi, 2 packets of sweets plus a personalised wedding card.
The wedding card is like the "Save the date" card in the western style to remind relatives of the date.

Close-up of the wedding card.

Verdict: It is definitely much convenient for the groom's side since they do not have to collect the cakes and  deliver the bulky stuff (the cakes were delivered straight to my place). However, do not pin too high hopes on the cakes and stuff. Quoting what my deardear likes to say, it doesn't taste bad, but they are not delicious either.

Deardear and I rushed back to our place after school to help my mum deliver the cakes to my relatives.

Our new house #6 - Slippers

Blame it on the weird habit of washing my feet. I decided to get a pair of slippers to prevent rheumatism and to save water.

Our new house #5 - A waterfall

Jurong Birdpark had a man-made waterfall. So what?
We stay in a HDB flat, we have a natural waterfall!

Haha....actually it is due to the heavy rain this afternoon......LOL
One advantage of our flat is we will never be the victims of flood as we are on the top of the mountains.

Solemnisation #4 - THE day!!! (Decoration & Preparation Part 2)

First of all, a big thank you to my pupils who came as early as 10am this morning to help out with the decorations in the house. Not forgetting Diana who went all out to help us to create the perfect solemnisation.

Diana in action - she actually went to Far East Floral to get fresh sunflowers to decorate the house. *Touched*

She went up the ladder despite afraid of heights

Putting the flowers together

Diana tying ribbons and the sunflowers to the chairs for the witnesses.

Finished product

Finishing touches to the pen - the holder :)

My pupil decorated the guest book with my favourite wedding photo. :)

Penning down her well wishes

At around 2pm, a delivery man was at our doorstep, saying that they are delivering a mahjong table.

Of course, we had to test if it's user-friendly...LOL

Different reactions from different people:

Friends (mainly women): $88 is cheap!
DearDear: Huh!? $88 for these???

Solemnisation #2 - Decoration & Preparation Part 1

The colour theme of the solemnisation ceremony will be yellow, purple and black. With my favourite sunflower as the main theme, you can imagine how excited and happy I am.

Bought some fake sunflowers and put them into good use.

The Sunflower pen which I DIY :)
I love it so much that I think I will bring it to school after using this pen for signing on our marriage certificate!

Trying to get the positioning of the numbers right

A rare sight - Mr Wu getting advice from people.

A gigantic clock needs a lot of help.

One of my dear P6 pupils helping us out with the decorations.

Preparation in progress.

My pupils stayed till 8+ to help me out, thanks so much!

Looking forward to the actual day!
